June 25, 2008

What a busy month this has been, and full of changes too. The kids are out of school now and I attended Whitney's moving up day (middle school for her next year) and Jayna's kindergarten celebration- both ends of the elementary school. They both did really well this year. Waiting to see how Andrew's grades pulled through- we had gotten a progress report showing various zero's on some things and had really been on him to do better. He's smart, but doesn't always apply himself the way he should.

Since school is out that means my job as a teacher's aide is over too. WooHOO! It was an okay job this past year, but I'm also glad it's over. The last week or so was crazy with exams and stuff. The past year was a good time to evaluate things and see where I wanted to go next.

I started training yesterday for my new job. I guess my official title is a relief life skills trainer. I'll be working in a group home for adult men with developmental disabilities. I have learned a little bit about it, but think I will get a much better idea about it once I actually start. I have about 10 more days of training first. Training itself was kind of long and not great yesterday, however that part didn't seem so bad once I left and saw that my car had been broken into with a smashed window and stolen gps system. Oh well, it got fixed today, but I don't think we'll be replacing the gps any time soon.

Richard has given notice to Motel 6 that he won't be working past this Saturday. He really hated the job and I missed having him around so I'm not so upset.

Reading now: Yes, Your Teen is crazy! Loving your child without Losing your Mind ( or something like that) really helpful so far.

Just Finished: Last Night at the Lobster - kind of a boring read

And so it goes...

You are so busy. I'm glad you are taking time to read! It really helps to escape sometimes. Anyways, have you read the Twilight books? Talk about escape. They are very distracting and the first books I've ever read multiple times. Miss you!
